In 1923 the Iola Junior College was opened, on the third floor of the Iola High School.  The library was a cooperative effort of both the high school and college.  We still have books which have an Iola High School/Junior College Library property stamp.  In 1965 the name was changed to Allen County Community Junior College.  In 1966, a bond issue was issued, and work started on a campus north of town.  In 1968 the high school and college libraries were divided, and the college library (Allen County Community Junior College Library) moved into the North Community Building until it could move into the new campus library in late fall or 1969.  Classes started on the new campus in January, 1970.  In 1980, the college shortened the name (dropping "Junior") and became Allen County Community College -- and the library became the Allen County Community College Library.
